Nuno Oliveira and Rollkur I was recently rather taken aback by the involvement of Nuno Oliveira's name in the Rollkur debate in the BHS. My initial thought was that this was either a very clever attempt to confuse the debate, and throw all the hounds off the scent, or it was a genuine, very deep lack of knowledge of Mr. Oliveira, and therefore of all the wisdom of the past masters that he himself studied throughout his life. I still don't know which one it was. Nowadays it is so easy to "spin" virtually anything, virtually any way you want, and no-one even bats an eyelid. Unfortunately we generally tend to be too dispersed, too busy, and sadly not knowledgeable enough to have a real opinion. Such are the ways of the modern dressage world. Whether deliberate, or through a lack of knowledge, we can see that the result is that the whole rollkur debate has been very cleverly de-fused
