The F.E.I. has a huge
responsibility. Responsibility to the riders not only of today
but of yesterday and tomorrow. And of course an overwhelming
responsibility to the horses. It is disturbing to say the least, to discover that very important decisions are being made behind closed doors and without anyone's knowledge. It seems that the dressage committee went ahead and discussed and decided on whether or not a cross-under bitless bridle would be acceptable as a piece of equipment to use in a dressage competition. Nobody knew this was being discussed. Nobody knew so they could not contact the dressage committee with any information that they might have felt could help the committee make their decision. Nobody knows what information was even considered. Nonetheless the decision has been made.
