YOU be the Judge!
YOU Be The Judge is a
new series to Horses For LIFE. This is a visual series for the
rider, the trainer and the judge. A series that trains the eye to
discern correct and incorrect movements, gaits, and training of the
horse, in the hope of providing one more tool that we can all use to
help our horses. In this first article we will be looking at one
particular picture. This picture shows us a common fault that we
can see in any level of riding. While we should expect to see
this manner of going in the lower levels, once the horse progresses we
should expect to see something quite different.
When we look at this picture, many might say that this presents a very
pleasant, even picture. Depending upon the current level of
training of the horse, this may be true.
What can we possibly see in this picture that might be acceptable at
the lower levels, but should not necessarily be acceptable in the
higher levels? You be the judge.
