The Plumb Line OR The center of Balance
And Overtracking, Undertracking and Tracking Up
“There is seldom a riding lesson or classroom lecture in which forward reach of hind legs, that is, engagement of the hindquarters in the direction of the base of the plumb line through the centre of gravity of rider and horse, is not mentioned.”
Seunig
This idea is one of those keystones, one of the foundations of correct riding. Riding the hindquarters into the center of gravity into the center of balance. Into the center of the horse.
So how does this relate to overtracking, undertracking and tracking up?
