| Wynmalen: The Mitteltrab | | Print | |

NOVEMBER 2005 • VOLUME 3 • HORSES For LIFE™ Magazine "...
the Mittletrab, practiced by the German School, unknown and practically
never referred to in French literature; it is not a movement demanded
by the F.E.I. or defined in its regulations."
ometimes
we limit ourselves and our horses by not practicing all the gaits
and movements that are available within the horse's body. Too many of
us get stuck. We practice trot, working trot, collected trot, try for
extended trot. There is of course also the medium trot, which I think
can be confusing for some riders, and many riders completely skip over. But there still are more, many more variations that the masters played with that can bring a new dimension to our riding.
The Mitteltrab is one gait that truly deserves attention for what it can bring to you and your horse.
