DECEMBER 2005 • VOLUME 4 • HORSES For LIFE™ Magazine
Kurt Albrecht was born in Austria in 1920 and chose the army as a career. At the end of the second world war he was First Lieutenant and Commander of an Artillery-Battery and a prisoner of war in Russia. Upon his release in 1947 he joined the Austrian County Constabulary and taught at the Constabulary Central-School and after the re-establishment of the Austrian Army as Battery-Commander taught at the Artillary School. In 1965 he was appointed the Substitute Director at the Spanish Riding School where he served as Director from 1974 until 1985. From 1973 until 1987 he was the Official in charge of Judges Affairs for the Austrian Equestrian Federation and then became in charge of Equestrian Educational Advancement. His experience gave him a very unique position and he willingly shares of his knowledge and experience. A wonderful opportunity for both rider and judge.
