Theresa started a fire storm last year when she posted on her site pictures of a warm up of some of the top riders in dressage. The pictures were so shocking and created such an outcry that this one woman's efforts were in large part the reason for the FEI Symposium to study the matter further. It did come at great cost to Theresa, and while the battle raged she was forced to close her site. Here is a one of the first interviews with Theresa, since this all began. What is rollkur? "Rollkur" is a derogatory expression describing a method of training that involves extreme flexions of the neck both laterally and vertically.
The name was coined by St Georg Magazine in Germany, and it comes from an old natural remedy where one would drink the potion and roll around on the floor for it to coat the lining of the stomach. Why they chose that particular word, I don't know, since I'm not German, and don't know those nuances of their culture.
