Here’s an excerpt from my book and audio lesson set “Zen Connection with Horses”. The chapter is titled “The Comfort Zone – another key to inter-species communication.” I have changed a handful of things to make sense of it as a stand-alone article. Enjoy!

Did any of you have a teacher you were frightened of at school? Was that one of the subjects that you enjoyed? Did you learn much from that teacher? Hmm … I thought not.

Here’s an incredibly important key to any real communication, but even more so for inter species communication.

Deep and meaningful conversation cannot happen when either one of the parties is experiencing fear at any level - so understanding fear is fundamental to your relationship – your fear and theirs…
