"Some might imagine that release and energy are in effect the same thing."
Unfortunately, when it comes to our horses, if we believe this might be true for our horses, and might be something that we could apply in our training, we will probably run into many problems as we progress in our training. Yes, we do need release. But release does not equal energy. There is release and there is energy. Two different aspects that complement each other, but are not the same thing. Release allows energy to travel through, but release on its own is not energy. And we will always continue to fail if we think it does.
