MARCH 2006 • VOLUME 7 • ©HORSES For LIFE™ Magazine
By Hernán G Solari (1)
"Sluggish resisting dispositions are harder to bring to the point of joyful obedience-volunteering to meet rider's demands... All they lack is the spark of animation, the most precious gift that a horse can present to its trainer. (W. Seunig, Horsmanship)."
When I bought Shoot, my horse, he was forward, although he had some strange behaviours that my trainer thought were minor things: he was spooky, had bulging eyes and was a tail switcher. My first task was then to resolve these minor things, especially the spookiness that was dangerous. I didn't realize that I was entering into a very deep and complex problem.
