JANUARY 2007 • VOLUME 17 • © HORSES For LIFE™ Magazine

Lunging has become THE way of breaking and training the horse. Having the horse turning endless circles around the human. Day after day, month after month.

Have you ever taken a count of how many circles your horse has made around you? Take a count in one minute and then times it by the number of minutes you have worked with him on the lunge line in one week, or one month.

Most of the time we see riders/trainers, work these horses on a ten meter circle, sometimes on a 15, very rarely any larger than that.

We have so many questions to ask.
