Forgive me if I have said or implied this before, but I have very strong views on the subject of what we humans call "sport". Firstly, there is a difference between a sport and a game. In both there are winners and losers, but sport has its roots in hunting and fighting. Football is a game, throwing a javelin is a sport. The Olympic Games has its roots in competitions held by Greek soldiers who competed with one another for supremacy in battle conditions. Running, swimming, javelin throwing, horse riding, wrestling and so on. I am not a historian so I will not/cannot go into any more detail. Other activities are being introduced into the world of sport such as tennis, and this is quite clearly a game in which the financial rewards can be enormous.
