Carolyn Resnick, in her book Naked Liberty, speaks about how the horse that is a leader, is a leader not because of what some may consider dominant behaviour, but because the leader is never caught unawares, and that as a leader of leaders, he in turn maintains his leadership, not by engaging in battle, but in catching the other horse unawares. A leader of leaders is never caught unawares.

How is it that when we read a phrase or a concept, a lifetime of experience and learning can suddenly coalesce and create a cohesive whole and create a different perspective on what you knew all along but didn’t realize that you knew?

Carolyn’s book did much of that - it was not about learning something new so much as being taken down the same path and given a different perspective. A very unique and special gift.

I finally understood so much that I had come to understand through the years but was lost in how to put together, how to take all the pieces and understand the basic concept behind all of them.
