Skill versus Art. What is the differentiation between the two? Can we teach both? Or can only one be taught? Where does it all come from?
When one learns how to pick up the paint brush, how to use different strokes for different results, how to mix different colors, how to blend those colors together. These are basic skills that you must learn to be able to portray art. But these in and of themselves are not art. They are an exercise in learning the necessary skills so that one day you can possibly become an artist. In the same sense, someone can teach you how to read music, but that doesn't mean that you will then know how to play a piano with the feeling of a true artist. One that who can make music play to someone's soul. But learning these skills does not guarantee that you will be able to do the art. They are merely the tools that you will use to possibly create your art. The differentiation between skill and art. Could be defined between the difference between what I as an instructor can and can't teach you.
