The Caspian, described by some as an Arabian in miniature, is a very old breed. Some believe the breed may go back as far as 3,000 years. When we look at the trots of our modern horses, especially the warmbloods as bred today, again and again we hear about impure trots, trots that are not truly diagonalized, trots that see little air time with all four feet off the ground. The Caspian shows some really good movement - movement at a trot where we seem to easily catch that moment when all four feet are off the ground and the horse is in suspension. |
