"Truth is mighty and will prevail. There is nothing the matter with this,
except that it ain't so."
Truth is mighty and will prevail. Have you ever thought how much we really do believe this? We expect that when we tell the truth, we will be believed, and then are confused the first time that someone doesn't believe us. More than confused, we get angry. We yell and raise our voice as if somehow we then will be believed. How can they not believe us!? Popular media shows that the truth always comes out, the good guy wins in the end, that justice and therefore truth will always prevail. But truly life teaches us this is not always the reality. The good guy doesn't always win, and there are many falsehoods written right into our history books.
Too often what is overwhelmingly popular is not necessarily what
is best for man and beast. We
often have to search for the truth. We also need to stand up for the truth and defend it. What is important is not that we prevailed, but that we stood up.
