HEALING HORSES

Finding the midline-Becoming Balanced on the Horse

Child Alone

"The true story of a little boy who was on the outside looking in. Difficult to make friends, to play on the playground, if your body has no awareness. A body that doesn't know when it is straight, when it is crooked and sometimes doesn't even know that it is about to fall down.  A true story of the incredible healing powers of the horse, and perhaps even more importantly a story and an article that raises an important question on crookedness in all riders. "

Healing Horses Crooked Riders October Horses for Life Magazine

ften as trainers we worry about crookedness of the horse. As instructors we worry about crookedness of the rider. Riders who collapse on one side of their body, sit unbalanced on the horse with their weight more on one side then the other, riders who are truly rarely straight, and rarely well balanced on the horse’s back.

Related Articles
Often trainers will insist that we need to straighten the horse first because how can the rider sit straight if the horse underneath him is crooked. Others might suggest we need to straighten the rider first as how can the horse go straight if the burden that is upon them is crooked?

I’d like to share a little story… a true story… one of a little boy who was autistic.
