Friend of the Lipizzaner?

For centuries we have seen the institution of the Spanish Riding School go on unbroken in teaching and training. A virtual icon of the past,  a place where the riders have dedicated their lives to the school and to their horses.

But now things have changed. We are literally watching history changing right in front of our eyes. The equine community was aghast when they heard of the plan to privitaze the Spanish Riding School. What was going to happen?

How would the horses, the art, the heritage survive? Without government support, what would happen to the horses, the riders, the stable?

To everyone’s pleasant surprise, it looks like everything is going well. For some, it is even better than ever with riders from the SRS traveling around the world teaching clinics. A wonderful way for the teaching of the SRS to be spread all over the world. How much better than to learn from the very best!?

But is everything truly going all that wonderful?
