SEPTEMBER 2006 • VOLUME 13 • © Copyright HORSES For LIFE™ Publications This unique video of Frank Grelo is so much fun to watch. [Please note: all pictures have been taken from the original video copyright © Mary Lucky.] In all the exhibitions, everyone is dressed in the national costume: the men with rich satin topcoats embroidered in gold, the women riding in full length floucy dresses. You even got to see Frank dressed up as Zorro; something I can so appreciate, especially since we used to dress up our horses every Halloween as everything from a viking longboat to a ballerina. Part of this video is taped outside with no arena, and it is so much fun to see dressage out in the open, surrounded by trees and the open fields. See Frank chased by an all terrain vehicle dressed up as a bull. That is, the all terrain vehicle is dressed up as a bull, not Frank!
Frank rides one horse with reins around his neck, showing that he really does ride through his body, which does not come as a surprise since he frequently, if not mostly, rides with one hand on the reins. For Frank, this is the norm, not the exception, at least from what I have seen, which does require a certain level of expertise. Not only did Frank ride the horse with reins around his neck, he also simultaneously long-lined another horse and rode a pas-de-deux, all by himself. Obviously, Frank is a man who enjoys his horses, and a man who does things that most of us would never dream of doing. Please note: you must be subscribed and logged in to see the video below.
