Brie Hamblin takes a look at the study by I.G. Joe Mayhew. And finds suprising information on the equine vertebral column. How we apply this information is up to each of us. Both riders and instructors.

But even more so equine veterinarians and equine chiropractors need to take this information into account during diagnostic procedures. This information could impact upon a variety of different problems as expressed by owners, from lack of mobility, to lack of the ability to collect, to back problems, to problems with lateral work. All based on physical conditions that the horse has no control over.

Do you know exactly where the horse has the most ability to flex and extend in his spine?

Do you know exactly where the horse can provide the most axial rotation of his spine?

Biomechanical information that impacts upon our very riding and training.

True Teachings: The Black Stallion

Of course after the story of the Black Stallion, there was a small part of every young girl that had the dream of the beautiful black stallion. We all dreamed of finding a wild stallion that would only respond to us, whose beauty and wildness was all tied up together. Who wouldn’t let any one else ride him. The small beautiful Arabian head on the lean and powerful body of a thoroughbred that Farley Mowett described was the horse on every young girls dreams.

Read this true story. An incredible story told of a black Trakehner stallion coal black, beautiful, gorgeous, his coal black coat that literally mirrored the blue sky, so brilliant was his coat, regal, a powerful animal, who proclaimed his kingship with his every proud move, with his very glance, who barely touched the ground as he floated through the air.

Masters like Nuno Oliveira, that I read about through the words of Bettina Drummond, also I got to read incredible articles by Henriquet, Racinet, Jean Luc Cornille, all of them shaping my training, my expectations of what could be possible.
