Anja Beran has both a new book and a new DVD that comes out this month in English. She graciously shares of her time in this hour and a half interview, to share of what made her decide to do both? What her influences were and how she sees things going wrong around her. From how not to train the piaffe, to the ultimate importance of lightness and how light can you really be, from someone who uses piaffe not as an ultimate goal but as someone who uses it as a basic training tool. Join us as we ask the questions and get answers about many of the things that you might see in both the book and DVD. We value this opportunity to ask the questions that we think any rider would want asked if they had the chance.
Nadja: What made you decide to do the book and the video? Anja: That is a difficult question. It was Isabella who came here to my stable and asked me that she wanted to do a horse book. It was her first horse book. I say yes maybe it is a good idea because the work I do - especially here in Germany, is much different than other trainers so I thought a little about it and so we made it. Nadja: What do you find so different about your training than from other trainers in Germany? Anja: Since I have been 14 year olds, I started to visit Portugal. Many times on my vacation I was in Portugal and I was very influenced by the the methods of Nuno Oliveira because I am a pupil of his. For me there is a big difference between the way of riding between Portugal and modern sport dressage. Nadja: Did you ever train with Nuno himself? Anja: No, only from Manuel Oliveira
